¡Ya estamos en diciembre! Las navidades están a la vuelta de la esquina y se va acercando el momento, tan duro a veces, de elegir los regalos. Nosotros creemos que una de las mejores cosas que podemos dar (y recibir, por supuesto) es un libro y os hemos preparado  una selección para niños de 6 a 12 años. Pero si los vuestros son más pequeños también podéis ver nuestras recomendaciones para niños de 0 a 5 años. 

1. ‘El clan del Talismán‘ de Begoña Ibarrola. Este libro dirigido a niños a partir de 6 años cuenta la historia de Miguel, un chico que quiere entrar en el Clan de los guerreros. Para ello tendrá que superar una prueba, pero cuando llega el momento descubre que algo en su interior se lo impide. A través de estas maravillosas páginas acompañaremos a Miguel en su aventura, descubriendo el significado de la verdadera amistad. 3. ‘Princesas Dragón’: El misterio del huevo dorado‘ de Pedro Mañas. El ganador del Premio Barco de Vapor 2015 vuelve a deleitarnos con una divertidísima historia sobre princesas dirigida a un público de 6 a 9 años. Pero el cuento ha cambiado, y estas no son princesas como las de antes. Estas son princesas rebeldes, aventureras y… ¡con superpoderes! En esta primera aventura Bamba recibe una carta del príncipe Rosko diciéndole que está enamorado de ella. Pero Bamba no quiere. 4. ‘Las aventuras de Kanide. La cueva de los caballos‘ de Iñaki Sainz de Murieta. Para niños a partir de 9 años tenemos esta fantástica historia de Kanide. Se trata de un chico que nos cuenta en primera persona cómo es su vida en la Prehistoria, concretamente en el Paleolítico, mientras se educa en valores universales que buscan el respeto a la vida y la naturaleza. También está disponible el segundo título de la colección: ‘Las aventuras de Kanide. 5. ‘La bicicleta es mía‘ de Carlos Peramo. Un libro para superar las diferencias y compartir lo que se tiene. A pesar de ser vecinos e ir al mismo colegio, las familias de Daniel y Néstor  son diferentes: una tiene dificultades económicas y la otra no. Por eso Néstor recibe regalos que Daniel no puede tener, como la bici de sus sueños. The Famous Five are a group of children who have the sort of adventures most kids dream about, in a world where ginger beer flows and ham rolls are a staple diet. Julian, Dick and Anne get together with their cousin George in the first adventure, Five On A Treasure Island.

George is actually a girl who wants so desperately to be a boy she crops her hair and struts about doing boy things. She hates it when people call her by her correct name, Georgina. She has a dog called Timmy—oh yes, and an island. Most kids just have a dog, but George's parents own Kirrin Island and let her run around on it as if it were her play-thing. Her parents are known to Julian, Dick and Anne as Uncle Quentin and Aunt Fanny.

	1. Five On a Treasure Island (1942) The very first Famous Five adventure featuring Julian, Dick, Anne, and tomboy George along with her beloved dog, Timmy. There's a shipwreck off Kirrin Island, but where's the treasure? The Five are on the trail, looking for clues... but they're not alone and time is running out.

	15. Five On a Secret Trail (1956) Camping again! This time the Five have pitched their tent near an old ruined cottage, which looks as though it's been abandoned for years. When Anne hears strange noises at night the others don't believe her...until they see ghostly lights. Could the cottage be haunted?
	16. Five Go to Billycock Hill (1957) Hurrah! It's holiday time, and the Famous Five are spending it at Billycock Hill. Most exciting of all, they've made a new friend—a real pilot! But when he disappears with top secret equipment, the Five are puzzled. Could their new friend be a spy?
	17. Five Get Into a Fix (1958) The Famous Five are having lots of fun in the snow! But who is living in the mysterious house near the chalet they're staying in? The caretaker says nobody has lived there for years, but the Five are sure they've seen a terrified, haunted face at one of the windows.
	18. Five on Finniston Farm (1960) There is a ruined castle on Finniston Farm, but only the dungeons remain and no one knows where they are! The Famous Five are determined to find them, and whatever else is hidden inside, but someone else wants to find out too. Can the Five get there first?
	19. Five Go to Demon's Rocks (1961) The Five have heard the stories about treasure on Demon's Rocks, but they never thought they were really true! When they discover a very old, valuable gold coin, the myth becomes real. Who does the treasure belong to? The gang are determined to find out...but so is someone else.
	20. Five Have a Mystery to Solve (1962) Whispering Island is a mysterious place surrounded by a million stories. Is it haunted? The Famous Five are intrigued to find out, but they're scared too. Are they brave enough to get to the bottom of it all?
	21. Five Are Together Again (1963) The Famous Five are having fun camping near the home of a famous scientist. But they might have known there'd be a mystery to solve. When the scientist's important research papers go missing, he needs the gang's help to get them back! But how can the Five work out who took them?

Roald Dahl

Esta entrada está dedicada a un escritor británico cuyos libros han sido adaptados al cine en numerosas ocasiones, se trata de Roald Dahl. Seguro que os suena la película "Charlie y la fábrica de chocolate"; historias como "Matilda", "Los Gremlins" o "James y el melocotón gigante" fueron escritas por este autor que también se atrevió con la poesía en títulos como "Cuentos en verso para niños perversos".

The Snowman

Os presento un cuento muy popular entre los niños ingleses que se llama "The Snowman". 

The Snowman es un libro infantil inglés escrito por Raymond Briggs que fue publicado en 1978 en formato de álbum ilustrado. Sólo se emplean dibujos para narrar la historia, de modo que no encontraréis ningún diálogo en el cuento. Más adelante se realizó una película de animación basada en el libro. La película dura 26 minutos y fue nominada para el Oscar al Mejor Corto de dibujos en 1983. La canción que podemos escuchar cuando el niño y el hombre de nieve sobrevuelan la ciudad se llama "Walking in the air" (en el vídeo a partir del minuto 15).

The Snowman cuenta la historia de un niño que construye un muñeco de nieve en un día invernal. Cuando esa misma noche el reloj marca las doce, el muñeco cobra vida ...
